More Projects

I love this new blog that I found for the projects and have made 2 more things.  Hannah's jeans are always too short for her before she grows out the them around the waist.  So I decided to cut them off and sew some pink bias tape at the hem.  It was so easy and took about 15 minutes.

Here she is modeling her new capris for you!

My other completed craft is a covered wipes container.  Instead of having a plain, white, plastic one we now have a fun, color coordinated one!  Super easy!  All it took was a little material, felt, hot glue, and ribbon.  I then added a "yo-yo" to the top.  I still need to buy a button to glue to the top of the "yo-yo" and then it'll be done.

Lillies

My lillies bloomed this week and Hannah goes out every day to see if another opened.  I bought 4 plants when we first moved here and this year nine came up!

Hannah's Springtime Portraits

Here is Hannah enjoying the beautiful outdoors this week - she even posed for the camera!

A Crafty Day

So, I decided to get my sewing machine out again for a few simple projects.  I found a blog that posts quick and easy projects that are useful around the house.  If you'd like to check it out for yourself it's http://makeitandloveit.blogspot.com

Here are the two things that I've accomplished so far....and hope to find the time to make more soon.  First, a grocery bag holder!  For all those bags that you can't throw out.  I use them as trash can liners, for diapers, etc.  They used to take over my pantry but now they are all in one place and easy to store and find.

Gabriel's carseat shoulder straps needed covers so they won't rub on his neck.  I made these in about an hour this morning during his nap.

A Glimpse into the life of a busy 3 year old

Every day is a new adventure with Hannah.  Here are just a few of the fun things that we have been doing lately.

She got a slide for her birthday. It's living on the porch at the moment since it's been raining so much but will eventually move to the back yard with her other play things.

Aunt Chelle came all the way from Glennallen, Alaska to meet Gabriel and spend time with Hannah.  She was able to spend a week with us and we were very thrilled to have her here.  Hannah kept her very busy during the day and in the evenings Aunt Chelle took her turn hanging out with Gabriel so I could sleep a little extra!  Thank you so much Aunt Chelle! (Gabriel wasn't too happy in this picture - I think he was getting hungry.)

Sweet kisses for baby Brother

This one is for you Grandpa!! Go Red Wings!!

It took her about 6 weeks to decide that she wanted to hold Gabriel but from the first time she did, Hannah thought that was the best thing ever!  Now she asks several times a day if she can hold him.  The boppy pillow is great for helping her be able to hold him.

Big Sister, Little Brother shirts

Tea time!  Hannah has been so excited about the tea set that Nonna brought for her.  We have a tea party most days... for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks.... you name it.  She always hums a little song when she sets the table and is very specific on which color cup/saucer set each person gets.

And yes, even a tea party in her bathing suit!

Gabriel is 4 weeks old

Gabriel is now 4 weeks old - I can't believe how fast the time has gone!  I have even had to put away some of his clothes that he has already grown out of!  He is also now in size 1 diapers.  They are still a little bit too big for him but the newborn size was pinching his little legs.  He is such a big boy - with an unofficial weight of 11 pounds 13 ounces.  This is from standing on the scale with him and then without him and substracting..... Maybe not too accurate but it gives me an idea and lets me know that he is growing well.  We are still working on putting him on a schedule using the eat/play/sleep method.  He has been doing better the last few days going up to 3 and 3 1/2 hours between feedings.  He still sleeps a lot - as the pictures show :-) - but when he is awake he has been more alert and loves to look out the window, watch the ceiling fan, and rock in our porch swing.  He still swallows air when he eats and tends to fuss and spit up but it seems to be getting better.  I just have to put him up on my shoulder and let him burp several times during feedings to help him out.

We are so grateful to God for this bundle of joy and are amazed by him each and every day.  Here he is in his new bouncer!  It vibrates, sings, and even has a heartbeat setting - pretty neat.  He likes to watch the little toys that are hanging, especially the one that has a mirror on one side.

He has decided that he wants to be a tummy sleeper so we've been putting him down one his tummy during nap time.  He sleeps so well like that.  Although I'm not comfortable letting him sleep like that at night when I can't check on him as often..... since I'm sleeping too.
Here he is awake!  Eating Mr. Cow :-)

This is actually a younger picture of him when my mom was still here - holding him, he found his thumb and fell asleep!  He's about 2 weeks old.
