2010 Oklahoma State Fair

It's fair time! This year we went to the one in Oklahoma City and it was the perfect day. James took the day off work, it was in the low 80's, and breezy. The kids had a blast! We had some "fair food", rode the rides, and watched some shows.

Here Hannah and Papa are riding in the spinning bears....

This was Hannah's favorite! She rode it with Papa twice, and once with Nonna, Poppy, and me.

The height requirement for almost all the rides was 36 inches and Gabriel is only 31 :-( However the Model T car's requirement was only 30 inches so we "drove" many times. He took the driving job very seriously.

He was also allowed to go on the ski lift that went REALLY high over all the rides.....

At the end Hannah rode the "Dumbo" ride ALL BY HERSELF

And when she discovered that it was fun, safe, and she had a cheering section waiting for her, she decided that riding alone was ok - so here she is riding a camel!

Peekaboo!

A highlight of the day was the Sea Lion show....Spark and Zoe

Aleisha - the blind old sea lion - saying her hellos...

Our last show of the day was the JUMP dogs - frisbee catching and water jumping. And Gabe waiting for it to start.

He did wake up to watch the dogs

After a fun filled, 1/4 of a nap day...here was Gabriel on the way home...such sleepy eyes....

Just Between Friends

Twice a year, March and August, there is a HUGE kid's consignment sale in Tulsa at the Expo center - 58,000 square feet, 1500 consignors, and an estimated 200,000 items! I have been going for about 3 years and look forward to it every time! This is a picture of one of the many clothing aisles that they have....

Since the kids grow out of their clothes every season I use this sale to stock up. Winter is just around the corner and I had almost nothing warm that fit Hannah or Gabe. I hit the jackpot :-) I bought 26 items for $100 - prices ranging from $1.50 to $10. I was able to get Hannah 4 hairbows, 3 sweaters, 2 shirts, 2 dresses, and a great pair of snow boots. For Gabe I got 8 shirts, 2 sweatshirts, and 5 pairs of pants! The one $5 Christmas dress (the red/black on on the bottom right of the picture) that I got for Hannah I saw at JCP - new for $80!

Then Kohls was having a sale and I got Hannah 5 shirts and 4 pairs of pants, and got Gabe 3 shirts - all for $5 each!

Now I just have to find a good sale on snow boots for Gabe and we are all set! I just love a good deal!
